Whenever I feel anxious about the future, or when my vision feels clouded and heavy with weariness about the journey I’m on, I remind myself of these words: “Good things happen to me. Thank you, God, that You make good things happen to me.” I repeat them quietly, sometimes only in my mind. And there’s something deeply soothing about speaking good words over yourself, about filling your thoughts with affirmations that reignite that little skip in your step. It becomes so much harder to slip into comparison or negativity when you’ve already chosen to cheer yourself on, without needing anyone else to do it for you.
The more I speak these words, the more I believe that good things truly do happen to me, and the more I begin to notice them, even in the mundane, in everyday moments, or when things don’t go as planned. I want to encourage you to fill your heart and your words, whether spoken aloud or whispered within, with hope for yourself and for the world around you. I know it isn’t always easy, and you may be walking through difficult times right now, but keep going and hold on.
good things happen to you.
